Types of wealth

We spend our lives trying to get more money, thinking that when we get it, we will be happy and all our problems magically disappear.

When we finally get it, we realize that it is too late. We have wasted our life chasing superfluous things.

We discover too late that money does not directly buy our happiness

Because money is a means and not an end. A tool to do the things we love to do without anyone forcing us, spend time with our loved ones without looking at the clock, and give time to ourselves.

This article reflects on all those things that money can't buy but are equally or more important.

The first thing you find out when you start having money is that you are still the same person. Money solves all your financial problems (if a problem can be solved with money, it's not a problem, it's an expense). But it is not a master key to closing all your problems.

People with millions of euros in the bank are tremendously unhappy inside, with broken families, a pitiful physique, and increasingly painful. There are poor people who, despite having nothing, have strong family ties, get up every day motivated to improve themselves, and are grateful for the little they have. Everything is within you.

The number in your checking account does not determine your degree of satisfaction. It seems obvious. But many people get confused in a society where the rich are glorified (or envied). There are other things more important than money and more difficult to obtain.

Why earns more money?

Pursue to increase your wealth (and not only to get money) to improve your quality of life, not your status.

Financial wealth: It is owning assets that put money in your pocket while you sleep (stock market investments, real estate, or business).

  • Money: Money is a simple transfer between wealth and time (e.g., a paycheck). Someone who has more wealth than you buy some of your time.

  • Status: Status is how other people think you live.

  • Quality of life: Your quality of life is how you live.

  • Being clear about these concepts will help us allocate money to what is important.

What is wealth?

In Western commodified societies, power implies wealth. But this was not the case in communist societies.

If you want to be truly wealthy, it's not just about having financial resources. Whether or not you consider yourself rich depends on how many wealth levels you possess and to what extent you achieved them.

Here I show you seven types of wealth so you can see that the concept of "being rich" is not what everyone thinks it is.

1. Physical wealth

What good is everything else if you don't have stable, healthy health? Taking care of your body is a long road that becomes more uphill as the years go by. If you are healthy and believe you will be able to reach your old age healthy, then you have this kind of wealth.

2. Economic wealth

Everyone says that money is not everything, so it is, but your life must develop normally. Having more or less money will not make you happier, but it will influence you to achieve the happiness you want.

3. Social wealth

Your environment, your family, your friends, all of them are determinants in your life. People with an abundant social environment are more likely to succeed than those marginalized in society. Create a great family and social environment, and your wealth and chances of success will multiply.

4. Spiritual Wealth

Your beliefs, principles, and what you follow in your life are determinants in deciding and inclining your path. Always be true to your beliefs and principles and make progress based on them because you will feel more at ease in your environment than in a strange environment that does not think or believe as you do.

5. Mental wealth

Linked to the previous one, it is based on how clean and active your mind is. Your intentions, feelings, desires, and thoughts are correct, support you, and make you believe in yourself. If you have a difference with your mind, you will end up defeated. The body and mind must be in total balance to move forward. "A mind divided against itself is devastated."

6. Power Wealth

It is the impact you want to make on the world, the dream you want to achieve, how far you want to go, and why you want everyone to know you. Fulfill your expectations and be recognized for accomplishing what you set out to do.

7. Explorer's Riches

Want to discover new things, face unique challenges, risk doing things that are out of our parameters, and come out victorious from those unexpected encounters that make you do something out of the ordinary.

These riches are challenging to achieve for everyone, but we can see that there are many ways to feel rich. Achieving them all is a challenge for human beings.

The things money can't buy

Whether your name is Bill Gates, Amancio Ortega, or Jeff Bezos, there are some things you can never buy.

Your physical fitness, mental health, and intimate relationships are things you must cultivate daily. You can't buy them with a single transaction.

All three together will bring you far more happiness and satisfaction than all the money combined.

Think about it, what's the point of being rich if you don't have enough energy and no one to share your good fortune with?

To improve your health daily and have a quiet, calm, grateful, present-focused, and conscious mind. And a house full of love, where every day is like a party. There is no investment with a greater return on your wellness quotation.
